Elect Mike Crane - Senate District 51

Basic Foundation and Beliefs in Government

Every candidate for public office should present a set of fundamental beliefs in the Role of government. Mine are listed below for your consideration. Each position in my platform will be linked back to one or more of these fundamental beliefs.

All human rights are granted by God, not government and government exists primarily to protect the God-given rights of its citizens.

All political power and influence should flow from the citizens upward, the unholy influence and special treatment of special interests must be eliminated. Controversial issues should be settled by a vote of the affected citizens, Let The People Vote!

The Constitution was written by wise men and that the original intent of the Founders is as valid and binding today as it was in their day. Until amended by the process specified, the Constitution should be followed as it was and is written.

Our Founding Fathers established a government intended to practice the fundamental principle of “limited” government. Excessive government intrusion, at all levels, into our lives should be eliminated.

Government at all levels has virtually no money other than taxes derived from its citizens. Government at all levels should ask for permission for any tax increase from its citizens by referendum.

The Constitution was written to govern a moral and religious people and it is being destroyed by those who are neither.

Our Founding Fathers never intended to separate God from government but did intend to prevent government from establishing a single state religion or inhibiting the citizen's right to the free exercise of religion in any setting, public or private.

Unborn babies have a fundamental individual right to be born which cannot be infringed.

In the necessity of national sovereignty, it is crucial to return to appropriate state sovereignty under the 10th amendment.
